We are seeking an experienced and strategic Commercial Director of
Funds to drive business development and sales efforts targeting
investment firms and institutional investors. The ideal candidate
will have a deep understanding of the investment and fund
management industries and a proven track record in selling complex
financial solutions, including investment funds, asset management
services, or fund-related software solutions. This role is
responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building
strategic relationships, and delivering revenue growth by
positioning our financial offerings as key solutions to investors'
needs.
Some of the things you will be doing:
Identify and secure new business opportunities with investment
firms, hedge funds, private equity firms, asset managers, and other
institutional investors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers
within investment firms, focusing on new client acquisition and
expanding existing relationships.
Conduct in-depth market research to understand the needs and
challenges of the investment community, leveraging this insight to
drive product positioning and sales strategies.
Collaborate with the product and solution teams to tailor our
offerings to the specific needs of institutional investors. Deliver
consultative sales presentations and product demos that emphasize
the value and performance of our investment solutions.
Lead negotiations with clients, ensuring favorable terms that align
with company objectives, and manage complex deal structures and
pricing discussions.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade
shows. Build and maintain a strong network within the investment
community.
What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need
to be successful in this role?
5+ years of sales experience, with at least 1-2 years in a
commercial sales role focused on investment or financial services
(e.g., asset management, private equity, hedge funds).
Proven success in exceeding sales targets and driving revenue
growth through strategic business development and solution-based
selling.
Deep understanding of the investment and fund management
industries, including knowledge of investment products, fund
structures, and investor behaviors.
Ability to engage in consultative selling to understand client
needs and offer tailored financial solutions.
Strong negotiation skills, particularly when navigating complex
contracts and pricing discussions with senior-level clients.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
ability to influence and build relationships with key
stakeholders.
Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), sales analytics
platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience selling financial products, fund management
solutions, or related services to institutional investors.
Established network within the investment and fund management
industry.
Experience managing large, complex sales cycles and
enterprise-level clients.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related
field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
At CSC, compensation decisions are dependent on a number of factors
including job location and the knowledge and experience of each
individual. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $125,000
to $175,000.
