Shy Shy will be a vibrant, chic, and approachable cocktail bar located in the heart of Chelsea, New York City. We will celebrate New York's rich diversity, offering a welcoming environment for all walks of life. Our beverage program, curated by Krissy Harris, will emphasize sustainable and ethical products, focusing on botanical-forward cocktails and highlighting female producers. Shy Shy will be more than just a cocktail bar; it will be a destination for special celebrations and private events, aiming to provide memorable experiences.Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Service Manager to lead the front-of-house operations at Shy Shy. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless execution of service, enhancing guest satisfaction, and maintaining our high standards of hospitality. The Service Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations and work closely with other department heads to streamline operations and foster a culture of excellence among our team.Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and Inspire: Manage and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver top-tier service aligned with Shy Shy's values and brand ethos.
  • Service Standards Development: Develop and implement service standards, ensuring that every guest experience is elevated and consistent.
  • Daily Operations Oversight: Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, staffing, and floor management during service hours.
  • Staff Training: Collaborate with the Director of Operations to drive staff training programs that enhance product knowledge, service techniques, and team cohesion.
  • Event Execution: Work closely with the events team to execute private events with precision, ensuring all client needs are met.
  • Operational Efficiency: Monitor and improve operational efficiency, addressing any challenges that arise in real time.
  • Team Mentorship: Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, acting as a mentor and coach to all front-of-house staff.
  • Compliance and Safety: Uphold health and safety standards, ensuring all front-of-house operations are compliant with regulations.Qualifications
    • Experience: Proven leadership experience in the hospitality industry, ideally as a Service Manager or similar position.
    • Service Environment Expertise: Strong understanding of high-volume, upscale service environments.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
    • Guest Satisfaction Commitment: A dedication to guest satisfaction and the ability to maintain composure in fast-paced settings.
    • Operational Skills: Proficiency in managing staff schedules, operations, and team dynamics.
    • Passion: A genuine passion for New York City's unique culture and the hospitality industry.Preferred Qualifications
