Job SummaryThe Head Sommelier is a key member of our wine team, responsible for maintaining the integrity of our wine program and providing exceptional wine service to our guests. As a seasoned professional, you will work closely with our Wine Director to manage the wine list, train staff, and ensure guest satisfaction.Responsibilities

• Help maintain a clean and organized wine cellar, adhering to the Wine Director's guidelines for binning and cellar maintenance.
• Keep staff informed about beverage changes on the wine list, focusing on staff education about wines poured by the glass.
• Assist with monthly inventory and update the wine list using BinWise when necessary.
• Participate in tastings and select wines in coordination with the Wine Director to curate the wine list.
• Manage inventory of WBTG items and create purchase orders for WBTG items for submission to the Wine Director.
• Confirm accurate and acceptable deliveries, restock and put away wine deliveries as needed.
• Oversee and facilitate WBTG training for newly hired dining room employees.Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a Sommelier in a fast-paced NYC restaurant.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable with repetitive motions, such as walking, bending, and standing.
  • Knowledge of industry critics and awards.
  • Full schedule availability.
