You will work with a talented team of engineers, designers, and financial experts to deliver tools and experiences that empower our advisors and enable our clients meet their retirement goals for income and legacy. The Planning Solutions at Northwestern Mutual is responsible for building best in class financial planning tools for advisors and their clients. The software is our proprietary planning experience, crafted around our own Planning Philosophy and developed side-by-side with our advisors. This role will focus on our Retirement Distribution capabilities. Because it is a living, breathing, integrated plan, Retirement Distribution is seen as the backbone of the retired client experience, working with other digital tools to increase client satisfaction and efficiencies. You will be working on an industry leading software that has extensive ramifications on Northwestern Mutual business. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop Roadmap: Champion the development, acceptance and communication of roadmap.
  • Define and track critical metrics for measure of success.
  • Capture Requirements: Participate in cross functional work to solicit key requirements relative to the accountable product.
  • Define the product: Responsible for multiple low to medium complexity products and product features from start to finish.
  • Stakeholdering: Maintain the awareness and ability to articulate the product story to a broader audience outside the internal team with additional experience and maturity in the domain.
  • Design Partnership: Partner with design to ensure cohesive future state user visions and experiences that are aligned with a quarterly vision with an understanding of the total design process.
  • Author User Stories: Translate complex business requirements to technical details to build and validate use cases and user stories around a product and communicate them effectively.
  • Data & Customer Research: Advise product decisions with both qualitative and quantitative data on behavior and experimentation.
  • Feature Prioritization: Develop and maintain multiple prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation according to business value or return on investment.
  • Facilitate ceremonies: Facilitate the daily Scrums, Sprint Planning Meetings and Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives. Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
    • 4+ Years of prior experience with at least 4 working in a Product Management Role, with agile team experience.
    • Must have demonstrated cross functional work in previous experience along with strong communication skills, time management, project management skills, eye for business and high self-awareness/EQ.
    • Demonstrated previous influence skills, initial leadership exposure, and work in ambiguity and solutioning.
    • Technical competence and effective communication and collaboration with engineering team, including translating product requirements into well thought-out technical requirements.
    • Proven understanding of software development processes and the ability to break down complex business requirements into actionable product requirements.
    • Solves complex problems; take a new perspective on existing solutions; exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
    • Solid understanding of product management principals, methodologies and best practices

Compensation Range: Pay Range - Start: $117,390.00 Pay Range - End: $218,010.00 Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
