Description:L3Harris' Space and Airborne Systems seeks an
Enterprise Space Vehicle Architect to join our growing team. The
person in this position will be deployed as a Enterprise Space
Vehicle Architect across the space sector at L3Harris, responsible
for the technical strategy and baseline for proposal pursuits.
While the focus of this role is primarily on the front end of the
program in the Capture, Proposal, the baseline established must
also consider the Program Execution and Operations phase. This role
is based heavily in the pre-award concept development, initial
architecture and development of interfaces and component
requirements through preliminary design phase. The Enterprise Space
Vehicle Architect will work closely with the program Mission CSE
and Space Vehicle Engineer to collaborate with all functional
disciplines during new pursuits to establish a technical
baseline.Essential Functions: -
- Work closely with Business Development and Customer facing
teams to formulate space vehicle concepts for integrated spacecraft
busses, mission payloads and communications payloads to meet
mission objectives
- Ability to perform top level mission analysis and trades such
as conops, DITL, coverage maps, revisit rates, etc in support of
mission formulation
- Perform top level system and subsystem sizing in multiple space
vehicle disciplines: thermal, propulsion, attitude control, orbit
dynamics, electrical power, avionics, mechanical, telecom, etc
- Lead agile technical teams in performing detail system and
subsystem trades and analyses
- Incorporate lessons learned from existing programs into future
baselines to improve engineering excellence and program
executionQualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related
experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior
related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of
prior related experience
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Experience in following areas:
- Front-end concept development for space vehicle
technologies
- Technical response on mission or space vehicle white papers,
RFI, and RFP efforts
- System-level requirements verification including allocation,
flowdown, analysis, testing, & demonstration
- Strong understanding in space vehicle design considerations in
various orbital regimes: radiation, space charging, thermal,
telecom, power, propulsion, disposal, etc
- System level orbital analysis to optimize coverage and revisit
times
- Familiarity with System-level performance analysis (e.g., image
analysis, thermal analysis, structural analysis, end-to-end
performance, reliability analysis)
- Hardware/Software integration, testing, and
troubleshooting
- Experience in mentoring and growing technical staff
- Experience balancing technical, cost and schedule
requirementsPreferred Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with Digital Engineering and MBSE tools such as
DOORs, CAMEO, CREO, JIRA
- Track record of leading technical teams in mission and/or space
vehicle pursuits including RFI, RFP responses, resulting in
contract award
- Accustomed to leading technical engagement with internal and
external customers in formal presentations as well as informal
brainstorming sessions
- Experience in authoring technical volumes, publications, white
papers, intellectual property
- Experience with system-level requirements verification
including allocation, flowdown, analysis, testing, &
demonstration
- Well versed in functions, responsibilities and
interconnectivities between Space Segment, Ground Segment and
Launch Segment -In compliance with pay transparency requirements,
the salary range for this role is $153,500 - $285,500. This is not
a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may
vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and
